Every year in May we have the opportunity to reflect on the wonderful person we celebrate as Mom. While this cheeky spread may poke fun with Joan and Christina Crawford, the purpose of the spread is to reflect on all the wonderful memories and positive moments we’ve shared with our mothers. Haircuts, horticulture, hangers… the memories are endless.

Happy Mother’s Day to all who celebrate and are celebrated!

The Spread Positions

  1. Mother Qualities: The first card represents the qualities that your mother has passed down to you. This card can give insight into the strengths and positive traits that your mother has instilled in you.
  2. Motherly Challenges: The second card represents the challenges that your mother has overcome in her life. This card can give insight into the difficulties your mother has faced and how she has grown from them.
  3. Motherly Love: The third card represents the ways in which your mother has shown you love. This card can give insight into the expressions of love your mother has used throughout your life and the impact they have had on you.
  4. Motherly Lessons: The fourth card represents the lessons that your mother has taught you. This card can give insight into the wisdom and knowledge your mother has shared with you and how it has shaped your life, wire hangers and all.
  5. Motherly Gratitude: The fifth card represents the ways in which you can honor and show gratitude to your mother. This card can provide guidance on how you can express your appreciation and love for your mother in a way that is meaningful to her.

Spread Enhancers

As with any Tarot spread, you can still draw a clarifying card (the next top card in the deck) for each position if you need further insight or clarification. A shadow card is not needed for this spread as the key theme is already represented in the third position.
